Pico Digital, a worldwide leader in providing comprehensive multimedia delivery solutions to customers in the broadband, satellite, cable and broadcast markets, today announced that the company will be exhibiting at the DISH Network 2016 Team Summit, taking place May 5-7 at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland. In booth #100, Pico Digital will showcase its professional-grade PD1000 HD encoder modulation system, PD100 single-channel HD IP encoder, PD6IP six-channel IP encoder, HD-2 HD QAM set-top box, and mini cable modem termination system (miniCMTS) for commercial and residential properties, academic and medical facilities, as well as the hospitality industry.
At the 2016 Team Summit, Visitors to Pico Digital's booth will see how the company's latest encoders provide high performance in a single rack space for local area network applications for both CATV and broadcast. The PD1000 HD allows users to encode both HD and SD signals in MPEG2 or H.264 formats. The unit supports real-time encoding, while offering the flexibility of two, four, six, or eight HDMI (in the clear), component, and composite (closed captioning) inputs. The PD6IP encodes six composite video and stereo inputs into one MPTS or six SPTS outputs. Allowing local programming to be cost-effectively inserted into satellite feeds, the PD100 accepts HDMI in the clear, component, or composite video input with auto detection, and audio input via embedded HDMI, digital S/PDIF, or analog. All three encoders on display enable remote control and monitoring via an intuitive Web interface and offer closed captioning.
For non-encrypted clear QAM applications, Pico Digital will showcase its HD-2 set-top box, which can be deployed as a stand-alone unit. Featuring an auto-scanning QAM tuner and support for 64 and 256 QAM inputs. The HD-2 set-top box offers HDMI and composite outputs, PVR/media player capabilities, electronic program guide (EPG) support, an intuitive HD interface for ease of use, and an analog output for display on legacy TVs.
For the cost-effective delivery of high-speed data services, Pico Digital will be highlighting its miniCMTS200a, which has been upgraded with new features and improved performance. The miniCMTS200a supports up to 400 DOCSIS 2.0 modems, or 250 DOCSIS 3.0 plus 150 DOCSIS 2.0 modems. With 16 downstream bonded channels for up to 800-Mbps downstream and four upstream channels offering 120-Mbps upstream data delivery, the unit easily copes with today's demand for over-the-top (OTT) video services or managed IPTV services.
