May 5, 2015 San Diego, California
Pico Digital Inc., a worldwide leader in providing comprehensive multi-media delivery solutions to customers in the broadband, satellite, cable, and broadcast markets, today announced that the company will be exhibiting at the DISH Network 2015 Team Summit, taking place May 13-15 at the Phoenix Convention Center in Phoenix, Arizona. In booth 1039, Pico Digital will showcase its professional-grade PD1000 HD encoder modulation system, SDQ6 six-channel SD encoder, PD6IP six-channel IP encoder, and mini cable modem termination system (miniCMTS) for commercial and residential properties, academic and medical facilities, as well as the hospitality industry.
The annual Team Summit is a three-day networking and educational event attended by DISH Network retailers. As part of the event, the Summit Expo allows attendees to source new products and services to help grow their businesses. Visitors to Pico Digital's booth will see how the company's latest encoders provide high performance in a single rack space for local area network applications for both CATV and broadcast, and how the miniCMTS200a allows smaller cable operators to bolster their service offering by cost-effectively delivering high-speed data services to subscribers.
The PD1000 HD allows users to encode both HD and SD signals in MPEG2 or H.264 formats. The unit supports real-time encoding, while offering the flexibility of two, four, six, or eight HDMI (in the clear), component, and composite (closed captioning) inputs. The HD encoder offers simultaneous QAM and IP outputs. The SDQ6 encodes six composite video and stereo inputs into a multiplexed QAM and ASI outputs, and offers up to 40 dB of RF output. The PD6IP encodes six composite video and stereo inputs into one MPTS or six SPTS outputs. All three encoders enable remote control and monitoring via an intuitive Web interface, support Dolby®
Digital audio encoding, and offer closed captioning. The PD1000 and SDQ6 also provide PSIP virtual channel mapping and EAS.
Pico Digital's low-cost miniCMTS200a supports up to 400 DOCSIS 2.0 modems, or 250 DOCSIS 3.0 plus 150 DOCSIS 2.0 modems. The unit offers 16 downstream bonded channels for up to 800-Mbps downstream and 4 upstream channels offering 120-Mbps upstream data delivery. The miniCMTS' high bandwidth easily copes with today's demand for over-the-top video services or managed IPTV services.
