The XDS-PRO1Q and XDS -PRO4Q raise the performance bar in US radio distribution with feature enhancements for small and large networks.
April 3, 2013 San Diego, California
Pico Digital, a pioneer and leader in the radio distribution market, announced today the availability of their IP terrestrial streaming-only system enhancement for the XDS-PRO1Q and XDS-PRO4Q single and quad channel multi-media satellite and IP receivers.
An evolutionary development of its industry leading XDS-PROQ platform design, the receivers can now fully operate in an IP terrestrial broadcast network independent of satellite links while performing all of their advanced features including: store and forward, copy-split regionalization, advanced scheduling, time-delayed/shifted programing, and logging of as-plays, health monitoring and file delivery confirmation. The receivers also work in a hybrid satellite/terrestrial IP streaming mode for redundancy. The receivers automatically fail-over to IP terrestrial streaming if the satellite path fails.
This enhancement along with the recently released XDS-PROQ receivers, offer highly scalable radio distribution solutions for small and large networks; These DVB-S/S2 receivers offer a wider range of reception down to 256kbauds, allowing small Single Channel Per Carrier (SCPC) or dual channel networks to replace their distribution in a low bitrate carrier DVB System while enhancing their service offering with advanced features available in the XDS platform. The XDS-PROQ series includes onboard Solid State Drive as well as NAS Connectivity.
This total solution maintains the XDS Radio Platform as the most advanced and dominant brand in radio distribution, continuing to outpace its competition.
"Pico Digital has a proven track record of providing innovative and cost effective products to serve the radio broadcast marketplace. Our leadership is highlighted by our customer list and the continued partnerships with top tier operators. I'm flattered to see our competitors mimic features we introduced in our first generation products 6 years ago." Ian Lerner, CEO of Pico Digital.
Pico Digital's PRO platform, originally released in 2006, was the first satellite receiver to include patented and patent pending technologies such as shared hub support copy split localized ad capability, and the feature to insert audio files on the receiver into live or recorded programming. This original cost-effective solution is the cornerstone product for many leading radio networks worldwide.
